Kyle Katarn! Please, folks, simmer down. I know he’s sexy and all, but let’s focus on the mod. The only appropriate Kyle Katarn is the Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight Kyle Katarn, since after that he simply turns into George Lucas. Kyle’s weapon of choice: the bryar pistol. A little known fact (according to wookieepedia anyway) is that Katarn’s bryar pistol is actually a sawed-off version of a larger bryar rifle that his father gave him. So I made them both. They have the same stats, so you can choose which is more to your liking.
The weapon itself is based on the render seen in The New Essential Guide to Weapons & Technology by W. Haden Blackman (page 38, also to the right). The render from the Guide to Weapons & Tech is slightly different than version that Kyle Katarn actually uses and is seen in the live action cutscenes in Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight. I quite liked the render version, however, so I made that one instead. I even went to the effort of placing it in-game. You’ll find it in the weapons shop on Taris.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Copy the contents of the ZIP archive to your computer, then run TSLPatcher.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
DESCRIPTION: Those who have played Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight should recognize this weapon. The bryar pistol, which originated from the bryar rifle, was Kyle Katarn's side arm of choice, which he used even after becoming a Jedi Knight. It featured increased accuracy with a light weight, making it both usable and popular. Both the pistol and the rifle have the same stats, which are listed below:

3 attack bonus
2d6 energy damage to droids (scope)
DC 22 stun, 50% 2 rounds (scope)
2d6 electrical damage (improved energy cell)
1d6 energy damage (beam splitter)
2 attack bonus (beam splitter)

LOCATIONS: Both can be purchased from Kebla Yurt on Taris for 1000 credits each.
BUGS: Some minor hand clipping due to the bulkiness of the weapon. Mostly unnoticeable.
COMMENTS: If you're either too poor to purchase them early in the game, or want two of the pistol, or whatever, you can use the following cheats to spawn the weapons in your inventory:
