When I play Mass Effect I play an infiltrator almost without exception. The only reason I do this is eventually I will get the M-98 Widow and then I will wreak havoc. I just absolutely love this gun, from its design down to its description (something about how it would snap a normal person’s arm… apparently Shepard is superhuman [we already knew that]). It’s a very neat-looking gun and it won’t be a surprise that it looks pretty neat in Knights of the Old Republic, too.
To date this is one of the models I have the most pride in. Not only with the model itself, but with the texture art. Texturing has quite easily become my favorite part of modeling, almost as if I make the model just to get to the texture. Just like with my other Mass Effect 2 models I used the original texture as a reference, though not a source, and recreated many of the details by hand.
One of the most interesting features of this model is the flaking paint in various places. This was on the original texture, but with Knights of the Old Republic a simple environment shader actually allows these worn places to shine through like actual metal while the painted portions are relatively matte. This makes for a very cool look (see the screenshots) when your character runs through a dark area. Most of the model gets very dark but the worn areas usually shine brightly as if they actually are made of metal. This gun will replace the Sith sniper rifle in KotOR1 which will allow you see it now again, but it will still be rare. In KotOR2 it will replace the Mandalorian Assault Rifle.

UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: Remove the above named files from your override folder.
DESCRIPTION: This model is a replica of the m-98 Widow sniper rifle as seen in the game Mass Effect 2 (this is the sniper rifle that Legion upgrades to, although an infiltrator Shepard can use it as well). This is simply a blaster rifle replacement, so all of the weapons that use the w_blstrrfl_002 model will now show up as this gun, leaving it compatible with other custom blaster mods... except other replacement mods, naturally. It is specifically designed to overwrite the Sith Sniper Rifle (g_w_blstrrfl002.uti) which I felt was particularly appropriate.
