I usually don’t make Star Wars replicas, but after purchasing the New Essential Guide to Weapons & Technology I had a bit of a burst of activity. With the wonderful reference images provided I just had to take up the challenge of recreating some of them. The T-21 was one of my projects shortly after. This weapon is seen in the original Star Wars trilogy, carried by some of the Stormtroopers on Tatooine just before our heroes escape the planet.
Like many of my projects, I frequently like to take some liberties with the designs I create. This version of the T-21 borrows design concepts from several different variants of the gun, although drawing most heavily from the Weapons & Tech version. The gun makes use of some of KotOR’s shading techniques, with parts of it shining and others not. This gives it a very interesting worn look. The texture art also is heavily leaning toward a very well-used rusted look.
Sizing the weapon was difficult because it is so long that when help in an idle pose it would actually clip through the ground. No trooper would really be able to hold this gun idly and one-handed, however my options were to let it clip or make it smaller, so I made the sacrifice to make it a little smaller than I otherwise would. You probably won’t notice the difference. It’s still absolutely gigantic. I guess I should say long, not big. As you can see from the screenshots it is rather well scaled to the characers.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Copy the contents of the ZIP archive to your computer, then run TSLPatcher.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
DESCRIPTION: This is the T-21 light repeating blaster, also known as the T-21 rifle in Star Wars Galaxies (no worries, I didn't base it off of that). It was a large and very powerful blaster used by Stormtroopers (for which reason I did not place it in-game, so you'll have to use cheats: giveitem t21). It is fully upgradable.
GUN STATS:

5 attack bonus (scope)

BUGS: Some minor hand clipping due to the length of the weapon. Let's suspend our disbelief, though, when we realize this weapon is far to heavy to *ever* be held with one hand, so the clipping through the ground on the shorter models seems negligible. Plus it looks cool at this, the appropraite size, so I'm not about to make it less cool by making it smaller. :p
COMMENTS: I think this gun turned out pretty well. I hope you guys all agree too! It's very big and very powerful... and looks very sexy when wielded by either Carth or Canderous. <3
